This is a Second War Luftwaffe short bayonet measuring 340 mm, with the scabbard on, featuring a 198 mm nickel-plated steel blade. The blade's ricasso is marked "PUMA, SOLINGEN" for the maker "Pumawerk (Lauterjung & Sohn), Solingen." The blade shows light wear, exhibiting some scratching overall common to extraction and return to the scabbard, the brown leather washer remains intact. This is an extremely nice Luftwaffe visor cap with dark-green piping, as issued to Luftwaffe Forestry members for ranks "Foerster of the Luftwaffe" to "Landforstmeister der Luftwaffe." This troop-issued cap has brown silk lining and is stamped inside the leather sweat band. It is covered by an intact celluloid diamond without a maker's mark or size. This is a Luftwaffe EM/NCO Visor Cap for the Luftnachrichtentruppe/Signal Corps (Unit Marked) (Luftwaffe Schirmmutze fur Mannschaften und Unteroffiziere der Luftnachrichtentruppe). This is the Luftwaffe visor cap for EM/NCO's in the German Air Force. Unlike an officer's cap, which was always worn with silver bullion piping, EM and NCO's had colored piping that indicated the branch they were serving in. The brown piping on this cap indicates that it was worn by an enlisted man in the Signal Corps. The aluminum cap eagle and wreath badge are original and all prongs are in place. I have decided to part with my only Luftwaffe Uniform set, the named tunic and trousers to Generalleutnant Kurt Menzel.The tunic had been stripped post-war save for the collar tabs and cording and has been professionally restored, so if restored items give you heartburn, this is not for you. Tunic is a lager size, about a US 40 Regular. Trousers are also named to Menzel and were sourced from Bill and Patrick Shea at the Ruptured Duck. Tunic does have some mothing as shown, but is in very solid condition. Trousers are very clean with minor mothing. Menzel commanded the Legion Condor Flak Regiment as well as the 7th Flak Division. I have a LW Erel General's Visor cap that is not part of the Menzel grouping but I would be willing to include it in a package deal. For your consideration, a named Luftwaffe Generals sword tp Wolfgang Erdmann. Promoted to General Major on March 1st 1943. A Paratroop General, last assigned to the 7th Parachute Division. Promoted to General Lieutnant and received the Knights Cross on February 8th 1945. Died at the young age of 47 in Munster Germany in 1946. The sword is in mint shape with no apparent issues that I can find. It comes with the issue tag, so I doubt the General had much occasion to utilize the sword as he was occupied with war time duties. Everything is bright and sharp. Came from an old estate. The scabbard is made from a pressboard material, covered in leather. This was done with certain pieces, like the DLV dagger. Hard to find addition with a named General. At the last military show, these pieces were commanding five figure prices. Taking serious offers at this time. Shipping would be extra.

Seldom encountered, especially with the document to accompany it. I picked this up from a small dealer in Walnut Creek CA in 1979. Only one I have seen. I do have another medal that I will be posting later. The frame is not original to the piece.

This is an autographed picture and IC 1 from a paratrooper that saw it all. Erich Schuster, with a picture 4 X 6 and his autograph on it. In the upper left hand corner is his IC1, a screwback with the notation L43683 Munchen 2 (Feldpost number?) He served in Belgium, Crete, Leningrad and Tunisia. He was awarded this medal on May 13, 1940 and received the RK on August 21, 1941. He was killed in Tunisia on January 11, 1943 and promoted to Oberleutant at that time. Wonderful piece of history. The medal is uncleaned and been with the picture for many years. I have owned it since the 90's and enjoyed it as it has been a centerpiece of my collection. I know you will enjoy it too.
