This rare matching pair of collar tabs is a rank unique to The Waffen and Allgemeine SS. This pair was removed from a wartime field gray Wool tunic of the Der Fuhrer regiment which was eaten up by moths. They were likely on a formal or dress uniform previously, because at one time they were won as removable tabs. An SS Oberfuhrer is the most senior rank of Colonel, and one rank below the SS Brigadefuhrer, the first rank of SS General. They are perfectly matched and show very light signs of age, storage, handling and use. The execution of the embroidery is of the very best quality level of German work. The tabs are in great condition and have survived the last 8-9 decades well. The reverse shows the remains of the glue from the original RZM Tag, The correct early stiffening cloth, and the embroidery base material shows, as on many early senior officer tabs.
