History:
Lotta Svard was a Finnish voluntary auxiliary paramilitary organization for women. Formed originally in 1918, it had a large membership undertaking volunteer social work in the 1920s and 1930s. During the Second World War, it mobilized to replace men conscripted into the army. It served in hospitals, at air raid warning positions, and other auxiliary tasks in close cooperation with the army. The women were officially unarmed except for an antiaircraft battery in 1944. Virtanen argues that, their "accountability to the nation took a masculine and military form in public, but had a private, feminine side to it including features like caring, helping and loving." The organization was suppressed by the government after the war.

1937 George Vanderbilt Cup Race Souvenir Race Car Pinback. The race was held on July 5th 1937. Great Britain, France, Italy, Germany and the United States had their best drivers and cars to race in a 300 mile dirt track competition in Roosevelt Raceway in Long Island. The Vanderbilt Cup was the first major trophy in American auto racing. An international event, it was founded by William Kissam Vanderbilt II in 1904. There were no races in 1907, 1913, and 1917-1935. The Vanderbilt Cup was not held again until 1936 when William Kissam Vanderbilt II's nephew, George Washington Vanderbilt III picked up the cause and sponsored a 300-mile (480 km) race at the new facilities at Roosevelt Raceway. It would later become a national award and was worn on the left breast of the uniform.

This WKC Example is a textbook piece throughout. The hilt fittings have fine silvering with no pitting or any problems whatsoever. The pommel shows a little bit of wear around the edges and the standing oak leaves are in outstanding condition with their enhanced veining. The crossguard exhibits the 'hatchet beak' eagle head and is completely crisp throughout the birds breast and wing feathering wreath and swastika. The ferrule is nicely patinated matching the other fittings. The grip is a deep orange color, and is perfect.
The scabbard is an outstanding example still having some frosting on the edges and around the throat area where protected by the in place guard. The scabbard is straight and perfect. The bands are excellent depicting the overlapping oak leaves with hand enhancing.
The throat is a thicker variety and is retained by two screws.
The blade is nice being in excellent condition w/ pointy tip.
The original large style leather washer is in place.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Two roughly, 21mm diameter, silver washed, die stamped, alloy construction belt support ramp buttons with a pebbled finish and a roughly, 30mm tall, 23mm wide, integral, vertically rectangular, base plate with eight evenly spaced, punched stitch holes to each. The base plates have a small horizontal panel at the bottom edges that extend out to the bottom edges of the buttons. The horizontal panels are both well marked w/clear impressed manufacturer?s RZM/SS contract code number and date, '36/39', flanked by SS runes and the RZM logo within dual circular outer borders.

This WW2 Italian Army M1939 M39 Pugnale Combat Fighting Knife & Scabbard is in Mint condition!
The blade is unmarked and this appears to be typical with these types of knives.
The unfinished blade shows hardly any signs of age & still retains a clean edge that is sharp
& has all the original cross graining in the steel surface.
The knife retains the protective leather buffer between the cross guard and the blade and is perfect.
Both the blade and the cross guard are tight and never messed with.
The wooden grips are near perfect and secure .
The three-rivet examples appear to be earlier production as later examples only have two-rivets, seemingly a shortcut to ease production.
The metal scabbard is in Mint condition and retains 100% original black painted finish. NOT A RE-PAINT.
No dents or other signs of damage from abuse are present. The belt clip is securely attached & swings out as you would expect.

Weimar Era Organization badge, in heavy silvered bronze, circa 1930, very fine quality manufacture, highly detailed, 53x72mm, extremely fine condition. A Bavarian Stahlhelm Bund field mod tunic badge, featuring the steel helmet logo and the skull of a stag with the Bavarian coat of arms in the middle. The wreath has been drilled and sewn onto a fine black wool backing cloth, which would have been sewn onto a uniform.

Weimar Republic - Deutsches Feld-Ehrenzeichen Hamburg.
The award could be applied for and worn to commemorate service in World War I. This semi-official award denoted war service without requiring membership in other veteran organizations. Its awarding and wear was banned in November 1935. It is constructed out of a multi-piece die struck nickel-silver/tombak base that has been silver washed and burnished, gold gilded and contains white enamel work. The obverse depicts a centrally placed oval emblem of a battle wary soldier returning home from WWI, surrounded by a beaded golden border above a white enameled patte style cross and two crossed golden broad swords, all above able a six-pointed star. The full back reverse shows two rivets and reads: 'Deutsches Feld-Ehrenzeichen Hamburg 3'. and 'Ges. Gesch.' It also has a soldered-on sheet metal hinge, round wire catch and round wire pin. It measures 2 inches tall by 2 1/8 inches wide.

Slip-on shoulder straps with Yellow, rayon piping,
and machine woven Bann numerals, "663" also in Yellow thread.
Complete with Perfect RZM Tag.
'Landdienst der HJ' Cufftitle (HJ-Jugend Armelband).
The cufftitles were worn on the left sleeve and issued to
German Youth personnel who volunteered to serve in the
Agricultural Labor Service, working on the land.
The cufftitle was introduced around 1934.
The cufftitle is neatly executed in the so-called BeVo weave
technique in off-white on a black background.
The cufftitle is in lightly worn and tunic removed condition,
trimmed at both ends.

Roughly 95mm tall by 52mm wide, machine woven, vertical diamond with red top
and bottom and white side quarters and a central white square with a canted black swastika.
Hitlerjugend (HJ) arm diamond badge.
BeVo made, GES GESCH marked at the back.
